On the first lesson we will run through a detailed medical history, and goal setting, after which I will begin to devise an action plan specific to the clients’ needs and requirements. Over the first four lessons we will cover all the foundation knowledge of the Pilates principles, always keeping in mind the specific modifications applicable, where needed. From this point both myself and the client will have a clearer idea of what direction to go in, which areas to challenge and which parts of the body to be careful with. I will continue to monitor, provide crucial feedback and corrections through all my classes, and carefully add challenge with diversity of load, speed, power and agility. My approach is very much tailored to the clients’ individual needs, and addressing imbalances that need attention.
It is very exciting when we begin to see a shift take place, the body re-balances & realigns, and simply moves better with less discomfort than before. These are the little gifts of Pilates – the inevitable result of a regular practice.
