Renee began her Pilates training in 1990 while dancing in Vancouver, Canada. Renee has a strong background in health including American Council of Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

After moving to Cape Town in 1997, she completed her Pilates qualification with Body Technology. Renee subsequently studied further with Dianne Miller in Vancouver, Rael Isacowitz in California and in Toronto with Stott Pilates. In 2004, Renee qualified with Body Arts & Science International and completed Dance Conditioning at Cal State University, Long Beach. She also completed her Injuries and Special Populations training with Stott Pilates in 2004.

In 2007, Renee qualified as a GYROKINESIS® instructor and also attended the GYROTONIC® course. Renee is a Pilates Method Alliance® Certified Pilates Trainer and her Conscious Movement Education Pilates Certificate Courses are listed on the PMA® Registry of Schools. Renee is on the board of the PMA Southern Africa Chapter.

To complement her Pilates work, Renee has also certified as a Holistic Massage Therapist, 200-hour Yoga instructor, Dorn Method & Breuss Massage practitioner, and has completed the Lynotherapy Assessment workshop and Kinetic Precision Course.

Lesson Info

Renee Watson Pilates Studio is now housed at The Source in Constantia. The Source is an incredible space that interweaves Pilates, Yoga, Education, Transformation and movement in order to suit all our clients’ needs! We offer private sessions as well as group classes, and we have over 20 trainers at the studio. These trainers come from different backgrounds (dance, physiotherapy, personal training, mindfulness…) so we make the effort to partner up our clients with trainers that they gel with. We also offer manual therapies at the studio such as Thai Massage, Dorn Method, and Lynotherapy.
